3 Ways Our Practice Uses Laser Dentistry | Laser Dentistry

The dental laser has been in use in practices since 1994. This tool makes numerous treatment procedures more comfortable for patients and more accurate and precise for doctors.

We're proud to offer this treatment to our patients here at Laser Dentistry, and here are three ways our practice uses this effective tool:

Periodontal Therapy

Believe it or not, periodontal (gum) disease occurs among more than half of American adults in some form. Advanced stages of gum disease, known as periodontitis, require a deeper cleaning below the gum line to remove the plaque and tartar buildup that is causing the infection. The laser can be used to remove infected tissue, and it combines light and heat to sterilize the area, which accelerates healing. The intense beam of light allows for more precision when dealing with infection.

Biopsies

Regular dental checkups are your first line of defense against oral cancer. If Dr. Clarke detects a suspicious bump or lesion, the laser can be used to remove it for a biopsy. This saves patients valuable time from having to seek a specialist and allows us to obtain results much faster. Early detection is the key to effectively treating oral cancer.

Tooth Colored Fillings

You may not have known that laser dentistry in Bradenton, FL can be used to apply dental fillings. Composite resin is the tooth-colored material that we customize when filling a cavity for you. Composite is directly bonded to your tooth, and the laser is used to seal and strengthen that bond, which ensures the longevity of your restoration.

There are many other ways we use the dental laser to make treatment more comfortable for our patients. We encourage you to call us to schedule your next appointment and learn more about how the laser could benefit you.
